PAGANI Zonda C12: Fabrication process...
Materials needed:
-Thin cardboard (1-2 big boxes)
-EVA foam (black for the tires and the color you want the seats)
-Wooden sticks (for the rear sight mirrors, spoiler, and wheel axis)
-4 Big bottle caps (for the wheels)
-Straws (for the exhaust pipe(s))
-Paint (better if it is acrylic or spray)
1.st Template
The first thing you have to do to make a car model is a template, getting the correct measurments so that the car is properly proporcionated when built. After that, cut the main body pieces into cardboard.
2.nd First joints
After cutting the main pieces, join them toghether to create the main body and to have a stable structure. Fold the parts that you´re going to glue together for an easier perfomance. Also at this point, something I didn´t do but that is recommendable, is to craft the wheels yet so that you can make the wheel frames coincide perfectly with them.
3.rd Part add
It´s better to only make template for the main parts, and the others make them according to the car measurements. For this car, I got some cardboard pieces, put them next to the place where the piece I wanted to do had to be and I "polished it" until it had the right size.
4th. First paint layer and interior
At this point, pain the first layer and add the interior pasting it on the chassis. Paste the chassis only in the rear part so that you can open it to later add the wheels.
5th. Wheels, details and second layer of paint (finish)
Add supports for the wheel axis trying different heights until you get the correct one and paste the wheels to the axis so that they spin as one and don´t balance. Add details such as rear-sight mirrors and headlights and finally, add the second layer of Paint. Your car is now finished!
